Blow the Shofar ~ the Sound of Victory!

Many of the faithful in Y’Shua, the Lord Jesus, have been challenged by the Holy Spirit to obtain and blow the Shofar in their homes and at Fellowship. The Scriptures describes the importance of the blowing of the Shofar. For it is the sound of battle, a sound of resurrection, a sound of praise and worship of Y’Shua, the King of kings, the sound of victory! The shofar is a sound the Lord God loves but is a sound Satan hates!

1. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember God's Kingship. In ancient Israel, the new king's reign was announced with the Shofar (1 Kings 1:34). When we blow the Shofar we remember that Y’Shua is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and we are to be obedient subjects.

2. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember to be God's worshippers. God seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. The Shofar is used in worship and in fact heads the list of instruments in Psalm 150, which are used to worship God. "Praise Him with the Shofar."

3. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember our need to repent. The Shofar signalled the approach of danger. We are in danger without repentance. "Blow a Shofar in Zion and sound an alarm on My holy mountain... consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly. Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning, and rend your heart and not your garments" (Joel 2:1, 12-13).

4. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the faithfulness of Abraham. The Shofar is made from a ram's horn, reminding us of the binding and Abraham's intended sacrifice of Isaac. Because of this act of faith, God promised to bless the Jewish people and give them and the Faithful in Him, victory over our enemies. The Shofar is a reminder of our covenant with God because of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Jewish people are loved by God for the sake of the Patriarchs.

5. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the binding of Messiah Y’Shua. Abraham prophesied that God would provide "Himself the Lamb for the burnt offering" (Genesis 22:8). Messiah Y’Shua was offered up as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world at that same place two thousand years later.

6. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the Shofar that accompanied the revelation of the giving of the Law to Israel on Mount Sinai and that all Scripture is divinely inspired by God.

7. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the words of the prophets. I set watchmen over you saying, "listen to the sound of the Shofar" (Jeremiah 6:17). Prophets are like a Shofar, which warn of danger. Israel was judged for ignoring the prophets. There is even greater judgement if we ignore Messiah Y’Shua, Israel's greatest prophet.

8. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the battle alarm for war. "Near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming very quickly... a day of Shofar and battle cry" (Zephaniah 1:14-16). Messiah will return and fight during the greatest battle of all time, the battle of Armageddon. We are in the middle of a battle that has been raging for the soul of humanity. Satan and his fallen angels are fighting for people to share their destiny. Messiah Y’Shua is fighting for people to share His eternal destiny.

9. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the end of all warfare. The Shofar was blown at the end of battle (2 Samuel 2:28, 18:16). The Shofar is a reminder that our final victory is ahead. When King Messiah returns He will end all wars, battles, and injustice.

10. When we hear the Shofar, we are to remember the catching up of the faithful, which will take place when Y’Shua meets us, the Bride, "in the air" at sound of the Shofar (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

11. When we hear the Shofar, we are to be reminded of the Jewish people's restoration to the Land of Israel. Messiah Y’Shua will gather all of Israel's exiles. "You will be gathered up one by one, O sons of Israel. It will come about also in that day that a great Shofar will be blown" (Isaiah 27:13).

12. When we sound the Shofar, we are asking God to remember us. The sounding of the Shofar is like a prayer that ascends to God's throne saying, "O Lord, may the sound of our Shofar ascend before Your throne. Remember Your covenants, forgive us, save us, and deliver us."

Considering the above, we will understand why Satan hates the "sound of the Shofar" for It will clearly deliver the message that he is, and has been defeated by the shed blood of the Lamb of God! The very sound of the Shofar makes Satan despise our praise and worship unto the Lord. He hates those who have repented of their sins and follow the Lord Y’Shua. He hates "Ha Davar - The Word" and He who is the Word. He cannot tolerate those that do battle in Y’Shua’s Name. He hates to be reminded that Y’Shua was resurrected from the dead three days and three nights after He gave His life, defeating that evil one. Satan hates the State of Israel, for were the Jewish people still in the Diaspora and Israel not been re-established, the Lord Y’Shua cannot return. Also, Satan hates to hear about his final doom.

Beloved upon hearing the Shofar Satan is reminded of all these things, thus, saints blow the Shofar regularly, in your homes and prior a time of fellowship. Do it because we love and worship the Lord our God with all our hearts, sending a clear message to that defeated one!

"For if the Shofar makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle?" 1 Corinthians 14:8.

"Blow the Shofar in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of YHVH (the LORD) is coming, for it is at hand" Joel 2:1.

"At whatever place you hear the sound of the Shofar, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us." Nehemiah 4:20.

"So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of YHVH with shouting and the sound of the Shofar" 2 Samuel 6:15

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Shofar of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words" I Thessalonians 4: 16-18.
